
In April, 2025, the City of Pittsburg City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 Strategic Plan and Shared Values Charter. With shared values of trust and accountability, collaboration and community, innovation and problem solving, stewardship and sustainability, the Strategic Plan emphasizes improvement in Public Infrastructure and Economic Development for the upcoming fiscal year. Council also committed to sustaining priority areas of Youth Development, Public Safety, and Effective Service Delivery. The City Council adopted long term goals within the Strategic Plan to be measured over time through the development of annual department objectives and implementation measures that serve as a foundational reference for the City Council to ensure that decision-making aligns with the long-term vision.
The City of Pittsburg City Council adopted Fiscal Year 2024/2025 City Priorities: 1) areas for focused improvement, which include Economic Development, Public Infrastructure and Youth Development initiatives and 2) areas to continue sustained progress, which include Efficiency and Public Safety initiatives. The City Council adopted goals to be measured over time through the development of annual department objectives that serve as a foundational reference for the City Council to ensure that decision-making aligns with the long-term vision.
The City Council adopted five priorities areas in Fiscal Year 2023/2024; Public Safety, Public Infrastructure, Efficiency, Economic Development Quality of Life. The City made significant progress in the accomplishment of the following goals; developed a Traffic Education/Engagement/Enforcement Plan, expanded Retail and Commercial Enforcement, developed Pittsburg Power Company's Strategic Initiatives, developed a Pittsburg Power Company Utility-Centric Procurement Policy, developed the design of Bliss Avenue, increased the Affordable Housing stock, adopted a Contract Ordinance, implemented a public dashboard to promote City’s goals and key performance Indicators, increased access to the Delta for the community, increased participation in the Adopt-A-Spot program, increased non-sports programs/activities for residents of all ages, addressed Youth & Young Adult Services Master Plan Objectives 1, 3, and 5, and conducted Code Enforcement sweep of Madoline Way, resulting in 100% compliance.
